Roles and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a NoSQL/Couchbase Administrator to join our team and contribute to the stabilisation and growth of our NoSQL/Couchbase features.

• Working with our internal teams during implementation and during production of their NoSQL-/Couchbase-server-based applications
• Working with our internal teams on performance improvement, data archiving, data migration and deletion of data
• Troubleshooting and researching customer issues, which can range from development-type SDK questions to performance tuning and failure analysis
• Becoming a product expert for internal teams and keeping up to date on new features in NoSQL/Couchbase
• Ensuring use of proper database monitoring, backups and recovery procedures for NoSQL/Couchbase clusters

Skills and Requirements

• Excellent analytical skills; passion for pinning down technical issues and solving problems
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting NoSQL (Couchbase, Cassandra, etc.) databases and UNIX systems
• Solid communication skills; ability to convey deep technical concepts in a simple and concise manner (both verbal and written)
• Enjoyment of fast-paced startup environments involving huge volumes of data

• Some experience working with users/developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues for backend infrastructure applications (e.g. databases, application servers)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and UNIX systems is a big plus
• Experience with troubleshooting distributed high-performance systems is ideal
• More than 5 years of experience with the UNIX platform in a large-scale, high-availability production environment
• Knowledge of other similar storage technologies (Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Ceph)
• Experience with cloud/AWS a definite asset
